Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists

Craig H. Weinstein, MD, MPH

Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists is led by Dr. Weinstein, a magna cum laude graduate of Columbia University, who received his Sports Medicine fellowship training at the world-famous American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL. However, Dr. Weinstein has his roots in Arizona; he graduated from Saguaro High School in Scottsdale.

Dr. Weinstein’s specialties include shoulder, elbow, and knee issues as well as athletic injuries in both adult and adolescent patients. He offers state-of-the-art joint preservation as well as advanced treatment of injuries specific to throwing athletes, such as “frozen shoulder.” In addition, he offers extensive expertise in joint replacement surgery.

Nicole M. D’Apice PA-C

Nicole is the Physician Assistant at Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists. Originally from Michigan, she earned her bachelors degree from Grand Valley State University in athletic training and corporate fitness and wellness. She then earned her masters degree in athletic training at A.T. Still University. While in school, she worked in a physical therapy clinic rehabilitating orthopedic injuries. From there she served as the head athletic trainer at Tempe High School and then Apache Junction High School. She also taught sports medicine courses to high school students and helped create a student athletic training program. Nicole earned her Physician Assistant degree in 2010.

Nicole’s specialties include diagnosis and treatment of concussions, broken bones, and general sports-related injuries. She is also experienced with the treatment of various joint and mobility issues.
